How can you tell the difference between vinyl and linoleum on old flooring?
I’m tearing it out, but I’d like to know which kind it was.
linoleum is stiff and thick and is black under the print. vinyl is usually white and much more flexible.

Linoleum is a petroleum product and is usually black. It hasn’t been in common use for many years, maybe thirty or forty years. Vinyl is usually white in its core.
