bamboo flooring- what is the best reason to use this material compared to others?

The only reason to use it is because it is a renewable resource. Other than that, you will be disappointed. It scratches easily. And you can not repair the scratches. I had a designer friend absolutely BENT on getting bamboo floors. She had them for two months and HATES THEM!!
Try an alternative…like cork floors, which are also renewable, very BEAUTIFUL, warm and soft. IN FACT…they last longer than wood or stone. Many European castles had cork floors along with marble floors. The marble long deteriorated…But they found most of the cork completely in tact and looking new.

If you have animals or small children that may scratch up other kinds of wood flooring, you might want to choose bamboo because it has natural scratches and striations in it that will mask the man/animal-made ones from your family.
